What Does Jewish Racism Look Like? Well, Take A Look At The Actions Of Lisa Lipowitz, Community Director, Of The Kehilla Residential Programme And Also The Current Manager, Of The Moshav Noam Non-Profit Housing Cooperative.
As the director of community programmes, for the Kehilla Residential Programme, a jewish organization in Toronto, Lisa Lipowitz is also responsible for the initiative, of Kehilla Residential Programme, in also housing jewish residents, in buildings across the city. The fact that the Moshav Noam Non-Profit Housing Co-operative, was also started by the jewish community, seem to also give her the right, to get rid of the non-jewish residents of that building and others, in an effort to give those units, to her jewish clients.
Lisa Lipowitz and Kehilla Residential Programme, has also been enforcing this specific agenda, since also taking over the management of the Coop, in 2010. Since that time, she has also targeted the non-jewish residents of the building, with the specific aim, to take over their units and to give them to those of her own community. Aiding her in this endeavour, is also Sandra Thompson, the onsite property manager, where both she and Lisa Lipowitz, has been carrying out this agenda, against the non-jewish residents, of that Coop, in Toronto.
There are several ways in which they also carry this out, against the residents of that Coop. One of them is to target those residents, who are also on a subsidy, for those apartments, in the Rent Geared To Income Programme, and who are also exempt, from paying the market rent, for those units. Lisa Lipowitz and Sandra Thompson, since taking over the management, of the Moshav Noam Non-Profit Housing Co-operative, has been forcing those residents, on the Rent Geared To Income Subsidy Programme, to also pay the market rent for their units. Something which they also cannot afford, and which is also an illegal action, by Kehilla Residential Programme and Lisa Lipowitz.
When that also fails, as it does in some of those cases, Lisa Lipowiz and Sandra Thompson, also resorts to other tactics, to get those residents out of those units, by also harassing them. As a resident there, I also know of this first hand, but I have also further information, on this subject, from the other residents, who has told me directly, about the attacks, by Lisa Lipowitz and Sandra Thompson, against them.
When those residents, also protested, against this unfair and also illegal treatment, by both Kehilla Residential Programme and also Lisa Lipowitz, its community director, those complaints are also ignored, by the City of Toronto.
She has been allowed to carry on this tactic, since taking over the management of the Coop, in 2010, where the residents were also not informed of this decision, either, until after it was made, by those, such as Mintz and Partners, who also has a pecuniary interest, in the matter, concerning Kehilla Residential Programme and the Moshav Noam Non-Profit Co-operative Housing Corporation. Kehilla was also hand picked by them, against all others, not because there were any shortages of applicants, for the position, to take over the management of the Coop, but because they also wanted to keep the demographics, of the building the same and to also benefit financially, from their position, as well.
Kehilla Residential Programme and Lisa Lipowitz, it community director, of initiatives, focusing on the specific housing needs, of the jewish community, and
in particular, in housing those persons, in specific apartment buildings, throughout the city, and in her case, also, doing so at the cost of others, who are also uprooted, from their apartments in the buildings, that Kehilla Residential Programme, also manages for the city, to make way for those, that Lisa Lipowitz, who is also in charged of that program specifically, also deemed as more qualified, for those units.
Below are more examples, of both Kehilla Residential Programme and Lisa Lipowitz's questionable conducts, in the management of the Moshav Noam Non-Profit Co-operative Housing Corporation.
- A blind resident was asked to clean up his own dog litter, that he also could not see to clean up, when the seeing eye dog, also made a mess on the grounds.
- The residents of the Moshav Noam Non-Profit Housing Coop, are also subjected to monthly fire inspections, which also included the fire alarm, going off, every few minutes and also throughout the day. The residents has also complained repeatedly about this, which was also ignored. For most apartment buildings, in Toronto, the fire inspection of those buildings, are also twice yearly and not on a monthly basis.
(More money for the contractor and also Kehilla Residential Programme, who should also be audited).
- The sub-contractors, such as Honeywell, who are hired by Kehilla and also Mintz&Partners, to do maintenance work for the Coop, which also goes on, unnecessarily, for months and over extending their time, to complete those jobs. Amounting in unnecessary expenses, for the Coop. At other times, failing to adequately fix the heating system, leaving the residents without hot water, in the building and especially in the winter. This has also gone on for years, at that building and under the same management.
- The elevators, which are always out of order, for some reason.
- The disposal of the garbage and other recycle materials. For instance, the authorities were called to the same building, recently and only in the last week, because of old pieces of furniture, in the hallway for days, with the knowledge of the on site management. It was also regarded as a fire hazard and an impediment to the safety of the residents. It was also not removed for several days, by either Lisa Lipowitz, or Sandra Thompson.
The issue with garbage disposal and the maintenance of the Coop, is also a constant concern for the residents. Garbage are often left for days outside of the building, much to the disapproval of the residents.
- Lisa Lipowitz and Sandra Thompson, carrying out attacks against some of the residents, of the Coop. The ones who are also attack the most, in the Coop, are also those with some kind of, either physical, or mental disability, or other health issues. The stories are horrendous, about the harassment from Kehilla Residential Programme and Lisa Lipowitz, that are also carried out against them.
- One such resident, an Indian woman, has also complained that since a neighbour has died, in the unit above hers, she has been daily subjected to the dragging of chairs, across the floor at night and other noises. When she also approached Sandra Thompson and Lisa Lipowitz about those noises, she was told by them, that she was hearing a ghost. She has complained to the other residents, about feeling helpless, to stop those attacks against her and felt sure that it is also because, they also wanted her unit, to give to someone else.
Another such resident, a black man, who was also evicted, after he could not stand those attacks, any longer and went into his neighbour's unit, to confront them about the harassing noises, that were also directed at him, daily. He was arrested by the police, who was also in league with the racist management and his apartment was taken over and given to someone else. Stories like those are quite common, and shows also how far, both Kehilla Residential Programme and Lisa Lipowitz, are also willing to go, to take over the units, of those non-jewish residents, for those in their own jewish community.
- Compelling evidence has also shown, that non-jewish residents, are often the target
of the management, including Lisa Lipowitz and without justification, and that the jewish residents, on the other hand, has been allowed, to have the complete freedom to act in any way that they wish, without also being penalized, by the management.
Often this also involved, infringing upon the rights of others, in the building,
such as either carrying out, or being involved, in those attacks against them.
It is also safe to say, that the Coop, is also completely divided, thanks to the current management, along the lines of race, religion and other factors, that it should also not be. It also stands as an example of the organized effort, that is also involved in racism, because the actions of the current management, Kehilla Residential Programme, Lisa Lipowitz and also Mintz&Parners, are also condoned by the city of Toronto, which has so far endorsed their actions. The residents also speaks of their unusual relationship, to the police, in that area. As if the Toronto police, is also a part of their plan, in either instituting, or upholding racism, at that Coop.
The residents has also long wanted, a board of directors, to deal with those issues which they also do not have, at the present time. When they also voted in 2008, to have the Coop, also managed by the Toronto Community Housing Corporation, they also did not know, three years later, that Mintz and Partners, would still be involved, as the Receiver-Manager, for the building. Mintz and Partners has had their term, as the Receiver-Manager, for that building, renewed, at least nine times and all of those times, without the democratic processes involved, with a Coop, such as informing the members, of the decision, to renew its term. And based also on the recommendation, from those at the Toronto Social Housing Unit, their term has been renewed indefinitely.
