Valerie Guillaume: "Recording the police while they are present in my home, is also a practice that I have had to acquire, in order to protect my safety from the police".
Valerie Guillaume: Though there were no (printed) signs to indicate to the officers that they were being video taped for safety reasons to the occupant, as with anyone else, the police were told this by the occupant and this particular officer Zybala, who was also immediately offended, about being video taped, in her private home and who also asked her not to video tape him and his actions while he was also investigating her call to the police. This all leads back to the police use of agent provocateurs against the activist, and the implications that it may also have on the police themselves, or anyone else, that they may also be working with, against the activist.
Valerie Guillaume: "The camera and recording device, was resting on the railing of the balcony, as I sat down in the chair, while I also tried to give the police my statement, about being assaulted. I also continued to video record my conversations with him, via the recording device, that was still resting on the railing and to which officer Zybala, then immediately went over to it and knocked it to the ground, and also smashing it, so that the device was also disabled. I then asked him to pick it up and told him that I was going to continue to record his presence while in my home. I placed the recording device back on the balcony railing and far from my reach, so that he would not feel threatened by it and it also managed to capture some more recordings of the officer's conduct, while in my home."
Valerie Guillaume: "You could tell that the police officers, had no intention of seriously investigating my complaint and that they did not even pretend to care about doing so". "To do that would have also been a conflict of interest between them and the persons being accused (there are two individuals involved) and the fact that there were also some admission of guilt on their part, in which they also apologized for their conduct, one of them anyway, also did not cause the police to take the incident seriously either". (The apology, was also in the form of a recorded conversation, that the victim also had, with the two persons being accused). The police did not care about that either.
Valerie Guillaume: "When I suspect that the police is behind the actions of people that they have either used, or tried to use against me, I always try to have some kind of proof of this, which might often include recording the incident, albeit secretly". And though I was not physically injured in this case, it was still an assault (because of the attempt on their part to physically injure me) and they did also cause me to fear for my safety as well". Both of which are matters, i.e the physical action and the gesture that was also involved, that are also forbidden under the law, against someone.
Valerie Guillaume: "The Canadian police and its government, is looking for ways to silence me right now, because of the fact that I have now gone into broadcast radio, in order to talk about human rights abuse, in that country".
